I moved to Alhambra about 3 years ago, and tried Rick's in the early months. I immediately fell in love with their burger and fries! I've been coming back regularly ever since.

The burger always tastes fresh, and is cooked consistently every time. I love the dressing they use and the way it compliments the crispy-ness of the burger itself. The thick fries are well-done and crunchy, very tasty (though they're usually way too hot for me to eat them right away).

I'm sad there's so many bad recent reviews for this place because I haven't had an issue, and again I love their burgers. There's no frills to it, it just tastes yummy, fresh, and filling.

I will say their decor needs work, and their menu is too expansive so it can be overwhelming. They could use help simplifying and updating, which I think would help with the reviews they've received so far.

Also every weekend they have live bands playing in their patio, which is a great asset to the neighborhood. Every weekend it's a lively affair thanks to them.

If you enjoy dirt, grime, poor ingredients, outdated decor, lack of presentation and cheap owners, this is your place.  Didn't check out reviews before coming and needed a quick bite with the mother-in-law and great aunt.  Filth is the first thing to come to mind.  Then the food.  carnitas burrito had green beans, carrots and peas in the rice and one piece of pork.  I think the rest was ground if there at all.  Served in a plastic burger basket with super cheap and small plastic utensils.  Pancakes and eggs ok, but sausage sub par and had to ask for syrup which was of really poor quality.  Ortega chili omelet came with halves of chilies on top, not diced inside as one would expect.  Smothered in sauce with chunks of vegetables.  Hash browns were mashed potatoes with a slight sear.  Absolutely horrific.  Those came on melamine plates with proper silverware.  Asked for extra napkins and was brought one.  No condiments on tables.  Get your own coffee from the counter where they have removed stools and not patched the holes.  To top it off the bill was $35.  Don't waste your hard earned money.

Somehow Rick's always manages to mess up our order. Today I got a burnt omelette... why do we continue to come here. Maybe cause it's the closest to our house. But I think it might be time to venture out!!!!

When you come to Rick's,  you know what you're here for. Not caviar, not escargot, but a deliciously messy and satisfying burger. That's exactly what I got. It hit the spot!

And that's exactly why I'm giving it such a high rating. You don't have to be a Michelin restaurant to give people a good meal, and EXCELLENT customer service.

Our cashier was so incredibly sweet and considerate of us and went above and beyond the call of duty to make us happy and welcomed.

They host music nights on the patios. As you sit and wait for your food, you watch the locals interact with the staff and with one another. You can tell this place cares deeply about their customers and community.  I felt so great here! Will return next time I'm craving that bacon cheeseburger!

I used to love Rick's. They had the best burgers. Its was the spot for me and my iance(RIP). Today I'm sitting here with my daughter and granddaughter. It took us 40 min to get our food. Then when we finally got it the food was cold. All the tables are dirty. There's been plates of food people have left and they haven't cleaned them up. Very dissatisfied. I dont even want to give them a star but I cant post this without it.
